(More customer reviews)Douwe Egberts is a very good Dutch coffee house, but everything they've sent me in the States is stale.I've complained, and they tell me I'm wrong.Oh, well.
The coffee should be excellent, but it's only so-so.
I love the Senseo system, though, and I recommend Melitta's coffee pods. They taste better, and they smell way fresher.
Here's the scoop with the Senseo system: It's WAY easier and neater than a non-pod system. Little counter space.Nice hot foamy cups of coffee.Taste?I love good coffee, found the taste adequate, and after trying everything, use Melitta. The coffee in pods is more expensive on the face of it, but given the lack of wasted coffee, makes reasonable sense economically. We bought our Senseo maker for 10 bucks at a thrift shop. Then we bought one for 60 bucks at a store for my sister as a Christmas present. We are believers.
Douwe Egberts is pronounced by the Dutch "doovay ai-bear."We pronounce it at home "Dewey Egg-berts."Take your choice.
